Zakirni Privacy Policy

Zakirni is built by Husam Saleh (the "App"). This policy explains what we collect, what we don't, and what you can do about it. Plain language. No tricks.

What Zakirni stores

When you use Zakirni, the following data is saved to your account on our backend (Supabase, hosted in the EU):

  • Account info — email address, optional display name
  • Subscription records — the subscriptions you add (name, amount, currency, billing cycle, payment date, reminders you set, optional notes)
  • Profile preferences — default currency, default language, theme, default reminder timing
  • Sponsor interaction logs (only if you tap on a sponsored item) — your user id + the sponsor creative id + the interaction type (impression / click / dismiss) + timestamp. Used to bill sponsors for delivered ads. Never includes IP, device fingerprint, advertising id, or location.

Your subscriptions are scoped to you via Postgres Row Level Security. No other user — or any third party — can read your rows.

What Zakirni does NOT do

  • We do not use third-party analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no Firebase, no Facebook SDK).
  • We do not request your advertising id (IDFA on iOS) and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • We do not sell or share your personal information with data brokers.
  • We do not access your contacts, photos, location, microphone, camera, health data, or financial accounts.
  • We do not scan your email for subscriptions.

Local data on your phone

The app stores a local cache of your subscriptions on your device (SQLite via Drift), so the app works offline. This cache is deleted automatically when you sign out or delete your account.

Notifications

We send subscription renewal reminders as local notifications scheduled on your device. Nothing about your reminders leaves your phone — they are not pushed from a server. You can disable notifications any time in iOS or Android Settings.

Sponsorship

Zakirni is free to use thanks to sponsor support. Sponsors pay us to show a small "Sponsored" banner on the Dashboard or in your Notifications inbox. Sponsors are reviewed by Zakirni one by one — we do not run programmatic ads. Sponsors cannot see who you are: they only receive aggregated impression and click totals. If you want to remove sponsored content, a paid Premium tier will be available in a future release.

Authentication providers

If you sign in with Apple or Google, that provider's privacy policy applies to the act of signing in. We receive only your verified email address (and, for Google, your display name if you grant it).

Children

Zakirni is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us at support@zakirni.com and we will delete the account.

Your rights

  • See what we have on you — email support@zakirni.com for a full export of your account.
  • Delete everything — Settings → Data & privacy → Delete account permanently removes every row tied to your user id, including subscription records, profile, and sponsor interaction logs. This is irreversible.
  • Sign out — clears all cached data from your device.

Data location & retention

Data is hosted by Supabase in the EU (Frankfurt). Backups are retained for 30 days, then permanently deleted. If you delete your account, all data including backup copies is purged within 30 days.

Security

  • All connections use HTTPS (TLS 1.2+).
  • Passwords are hashed with bcrypt by Supabase Auth.
  • Auth tokens are stored on your device in Keychain (iOS) or EncryptedSharedPreferences (Android).
  • We never ship the Supabase service-role key in the app — sensitive admin actions (like account deletion) run server-side via Edge Functions.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we'll notify you in-app before the new policy takes effect. Older versions stay available at zakirni.com/legal.
